SEE-ARVO was voted during the SEEOS General Assembly in Budapest (June 2009) and officially recognized in October 2009 as an ARVO Chapter Affiliate.

In order to be recognized as an ARVO Chapter affiliate, SEE-ARVO had to meet the criteria below:

    • be an organization with clinical and basic researchers dedicated to advancing the field of ophthalmic and vision research;
    • host at least one educational meeting per year;
    • fund at least one travel grant to the ARVO Annual Meeting.

SEE-ARVO is an ARVO Chapter and a Subsociety of the South-East European Ophthalmological Society.
